OUCC provides a complete one-stop high-quality admixture product supply chain, starting from the most upstream petrochemical raw materials, multiple processing to the final chemical admixture available for the concrete plant, all of which are designed and manufactured by OUCC. The quality of processing at each stage is controlled and guaranteed.
OUCC continues its dedication in construction chemicals, spanning its fields to the chemistry and civil engineering, and working with customers to solve various construction problems and improve the quality of the industry. We, at Oriental Union Chemical Corporation, ceaselessly provide customers with solutions to enhance the concrete performance through the following methods:

World-class polycarboxylate (PCE) superplasticizer polymerization technology

Starting with chemical admixtures, we work with customers to set the upmost equilibrium of concrete design. To meet the requirement, OUCC's products are all "precisely designed", and complied with rigorously defined quality control standards, to achieve "quality stability."

The water-reducing admixtures (WR series) and the slump-retaining admixtures (SR series) of high performance, composed mainly of polycarboxylate superplasticizer (PCE) compounds, are the third generation concrete admixtures.

These concrete admixtures, with the characteristics of high water reducing rate and low slump loss, can extend the setting time of concrete without impact on its early strengthening. Its excellent workability, such as strengthening, bleeding, slump, durability, emplyed maily for concrete and various structural parts, fit in truly well as required.

For the synthesis of polycarboxylate superplasticizer, the key lies in the design of the molecular structure, which includes the main chain group, the density and length of the side chain in the molecule. The main chain of the polycarboxylate water reducer, possessing a polar carboxylic acid group COO–, as well as a polyether branched chain, can help adsorb and disperse cement particles with its repulsive force to reduce the effect of mixing water.
Advantages of OUCC high-performance water-reducing PCE series are as follows:

  1. High dispersibility and superior water-reducing rate.
  2. Flexibility and adjustability of dosage.
  3. Workability improvement and rapid strengthening development.
  4. Machinability and pumpability.

In response to the future challenge of net zero emissions, as natural resources such as cement and aggregates are becoming scarce, while a large amount of recycling and additional alternative sources may result in the unstable quality of concrete. The adjustability of chemical dopants hence has become the mainstream of the current market. With continuous research and development, OUCC aims to achieve its goal in higher applicability through micro-molecular design.

OUCC slump-retaining admixtures (WR series)

Being a subtropical country, Taiwan's climate changes in winter and summer have a great influence on the design of concrete admixtures. During summer, the constant temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius will intensify and exacerbate the loss of concrete slump resulted from the hydration reaction.

On the other hand, as an island country, resources dependence on long-distance transportations or imports will result in the instability of cement and sand. The extreme climate and resource conditions, once exceeding expectations, will accompany great risks to the concrete quality.

The long-effective slump-retaining polycarboxylate admixtures (SR series) are used to assist water-reducing polycarboxylate admixture (WR series). By the modification of polycarboxylate macromolecular branched ester groups or other non-hydrophilic groups, the adsorption of the water-reducing agent on the surface of cement particles can be postponed, and as the cement hydration reaction occurs, ester groups or hydrophobic functional groups will be hydrolyzed in a highly alkaline environment and converted into its original carboxyl group. Through the effect of alkaline hydrolysis, the dispersion effect of the polycarboxylate admixtures can be sustained for a long time, enable the slump to remain stable, significantly improving the workability and transportability of the concrete.
